For various reasons, young adults sometimes get completely stuck in their lives. Since 2011, Yes We Can Youth Clinics has been providing highly effective treatment to tens of thousands of 13 to 25 year old adolescents who are struggling with mental health issues, behavioural problems and addictions. Our 10-week, all-English in-patient treatment programme, extensive aftercare and thorough family care make us one of the leading treatment centres for young adults in the world.
Our treatment method consists of a 10-week residential programme, followed by a 10-week aftercare programme. Since the start in 2011, unconditional warmth, safety and confrontation at the right time have been pivotal. Together with other young people (called fellows in our clinic) from all around the world, they learn to recognise and acknowledge their problems, ask for help, and speak out. Throughout the treatment process, over 500 highly specialised healthcare professionals work hard to help fellows and their families turn hopelessness into hope and happiness.
The Yes We Can Youth Clinics treatment programme has proven to be highly successful. About 74% of former fellows no longer need intensive specialised care after their treatment. This success rate is so high because Yes We Can Youth Clinics does not only work together with the fellows, but also with their parents/carers. This unique treatment method has proven to be a turning point in the lives of thousands of young adults. Read more about our research results on treatment effectiveness.
The unique Yes We Can Youth Clinics treatment method is based on the principle of (positive) group dynamics. Our approach is both individualised and systemic. The tightly structured programme is designed to help gain insight into their behaviour and its origins. In parallel with the child's treatment, parents will participate in an intensive family coaching- and counselling programme. During the private, four day Bonding Week, which takes place halfway through the treatment, the parents/carers will get all the tools they need to ensure their child's treatment remains effective after they return home.
The Yes We Can Youth Clinics treatment programme is distinctive in three ways:
Atmosphere
At Yes We Can Youth Clinics, unconditional warmth, safety, and confrontation at the right time are pivotal. Many young people at our clinic face the same problems, such as depression, trauma and substance abuse. Problems that many of our colleagues have overcome themselves. This creates a lot of recognition between fellows and employees. The group dynamics create the will and the strength for the fellows to really change.
Multidisciplinairy team
Yes We Can Youth Clinics works with multidisciplinary teams. Psychiatrists and registered clinical psychologists collaborate with expert-by-experience counsellors, youth coaches and our medical staff. In total, more than 500 professionals work for and with the fellows.
Intensive treatment programme
Our intensive 24/7 residential treatment programme of 10 weeks, followed by a 10-week aftercare programme is based on the principle of (positive) group dynamics. Together with other young adults the fellows learn to recognise and acknowledge their problems, ask for help and speak out. Our treatment approach includes the following therapies:
Sport- and outdoor activities are a big part of the treatment at Yes We Can Youth Clinics. During these daily activities, fellows learn, for example, to set boundaries, have more discipline, and build teamwork. These activities not only give them more self-confidence but also contribute to strong friendships. From doing a high rope course to crossfit, the daily treatment programme of Yes We Can Youth Clinics consists of challenging, varied sport- and outdoor activities.
We have comprehensively outlined our treatment method to provide proper insight into the execution of care delivered by Yes We Can Youth Clinics to benefit young adults and their parents/carers.
Suffering adolescents and young adults often have low self-esteem, fear of failure, authority problems, and motivational and communication problems. Their parents consider this behaviour to be very frustrating. Often, they blame themselves or those around them for their child's unacceptable behaviour. The mandatory family counselling and coaching programme in our treatment approach addresses these issues and helps the family work towards a safe return home where they know how to support their child's recovery process.
Yes We Can Youth Clinics strives to help struggling young adults and their families as quickly as possible. That is why the waiting time at our youth clinic is short. Find more information about our current waiting times and the next steps after applying for an intake.
Yes We Can Youth Clinics maintains excellent professional relationships with healthcare professionals worldwide who have referred fellows and their families to us. This network includes family doctors, youth care professionals and other healthcare institutions. With your and your child's permission, we will regularly update these professionals so they can follow your child's progress, learn about their experiences, and how they can further support your child's recovery process after treatment at our facility has been completed.
Let us start by emphasising that if you have any questions, any at all, you can always contact us. We cannot stress enough that we are there for you, whether you sign up for treatment in our youth clinic or not. Please check our page for more information about the intake interview.
Yes We Can Youth Clinics will be there for you, your child and the rest of your family, right by your side, listening and supporting. Unconditionally. Just as we did for thousands of other 13-25 year old young adults and their families before you. Our treatment team will do everything it takes to help you and your family make permanent changes. Both you and your child will gain sight into the nature and impact of the unhealthy and destructive behavioour and learn new and healthy behaviour. Your life after treatment will be discussed extensively. How to plan, spend and use your time? What are your goals in life? Which talents do you have? How to react in new ways to difficult situations. During the highly intensive 10-week treatment programme, we will search for these and many other answers together.

After a high-intensity treatment at Yes We Can Youth Clinics, ongoing aftercare is utilised to help maintain a healthy recovery. The fellow may have changed, but the social environment has stayed the same. Going back home can therefore be very confronting, causing old behaviours and familiar habits to recur. Not being in a safe environment with the right guidance can lead to relapse and trigger severe consequences. For that reason, it is essential to receive a high level of support during this period. The Yes We Can Youth Clinics 10-week aftercare programme supports young adults in applying the tools learned at the youth clinic to everyday life and is therefore part of our treatment programme.
